Overview

Since the beginning of July 2016, “Read with Me” meetings were held at Avaye-mandegar Empowerment Center. In this program, six Reading Aloud trainers of the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature read books three days a week for 120 children aged 7-9, 10-12, and +13. During this summer period, book bagbacks filled with quality books and related activity packs were provided by the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature to the trainers. Trainers in each session attempted to engage children and stimulate their interest and enthusiasm in books by participating in book-related activities such as artistic activities, creative theater, making masks, and so on. At the end of these three months, twelve quality books were read for children and their related activities were accomplished.

The sponsor of this summer course was a benefactor and the Fund for the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature.
