Since October 2015, the Ameneh nursery authorities accepted to officially start “Reading with Babies and Toddlers program” in this center. Also, the nursery authorities have shown interest in establishing an appropriate library for babies and toddlers.
In the spring of 2016, 16 hours on average was spent each week with 60 babies and 2 hours with a few toddlers. By the end of June 2016, 120 sessions of book reading with babies and toddlers and 44 sessions of Learning Sounds and book reading with a new group toddlers were held in this center.
Sadeghi, the project executive in this center, explains how she started her work in this nursery:
During the previous eighteen months with these kids, I’ve recognized that babies and toddlers learn sooner than older children and the work’s result will be seen faster and more distinct with this children. This experience and studying the book “Baby Read-Aloud Basics” made me to start my work with babies and toddlers. So I started reading with one or two of them in short times since July 2014.
She also expresses her experiences of working with Babies and Toddlers in this center:

Now that I have started working with babies, the tutors ask me if it is useful for them at all or if they understand. They ask me why I spend so much time talking to them and they wonder if it wouldn’t be better if I spend this time with older children. But I believe that by our non-stopping work in the right path, the tutors in this section will realize that speaking and reading with babies and toddlers will bring them plenty of mental and physical benefits, as it has brought by now. This curiosity in other tutors can be a start point for fundamental changes in the methods in this nursery.
