Child Foundation which has been registered in Iran under the name of Child Welfare Charity Institute started it activities in 1995 and it has stated its sacred goal as: “No Iranian talented student should be deprived of education on ground of poverty.”

After signing a contract between Child Foundation and the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature, our institute started a quality books library for children supported by this foundation in Rahahan neighborhood. In July 2015 workshops were held for foundation’s teachers and volunteers on subjects such as Knowing Quality Books, Methods of holding a Book Reading Session and preparing a library. Monthly Book Reading Sessions are held since August 2015 for 129 Primary School students in Child Foundation. As programmed by Child Foundation these Reading Aloud and Related activities sessions are held three times a week in Tehran and once a week in Gharchak.

Overview

Attaching the highest importance to education is the main policy of Child Welfare Charity Institute. The institute has been trying to respect human dignity of students while preventing their overdependence on the institute, and help them to build a brighter future for themselves.
Upon this belief, Child Foundation authorities announced their interest in one-year implementation of Read with Me project in this center within a request. After signing a contract between two institutes, IRHCL agreed to establish a library of quality books for the children of this foundation in Rahahan neighborhood and hold series of RWM educative workshops for volunteers and social workers, so that the teachers would be able to hold RWM “Reading Aloud Sessions” for children.
In July 2015 workshops were held for foundation’s teachers and volunteers on subjects such as Knowing Quality Books, Methods of holding a Book Reading Session and preparing a library.
Book Reading Sessions are held since August 2015 for 129 Primary School students supported by Child Foundation every month and at the end of each session the book is gifted to children. So, Children can have a quality book for themselves every month and besides they can borrow quality books from the library established in the foundation.

Due to residence of a group of these children in Gharchak – Varamin, near Tehran “Book Reading Sessions” are also held in Child Foundation Center in this district. As programmed by Child Foundation these Reading Aloud and Book Related Activities sessions are held three times a week in Tehran and once a week in Gharchak.
