a Biennial Read with Me Conference has been held since November 2016 by the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature.
The purpose of this conference is to present a report of the implementation of Read with Me program in deprived areas and sharing experiences from the “Reading with Babies and Toddlers” and “Basic Literacy Creative Education through Literature” programs.
For the first Read with Me Conference, the institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature also founded the “Jabbar Baghtcheban” Award. Jabbar Baghtcheban is financially supported by Omran Azarestan Construction Co. At the conference, it is biannually awarded to a number of selected creative teacher-promoters of the Read with Me program from remote areas across Iran.
