Another “Read with Me” library was set up in a disadvantaged area in Tehran

On 6 August 2018, another “Read with Me” child-centered library was opened in Avaye Mandegar Empowerment Institute at the presence of children and their families.
This library is located at Avaye Mandegar Empowerment Center in Darvaze Ghar (Shoosh), a disadvantaged neighborhood in the middle of Tehran. This child-centered library has been established by the financial supports of Mahmoud Mostafazadeh, CEO of the Navdisrah Company. Avaye Mandegar library is designed and equipped with more than 1100 book volumes. From now on, children from low-income families in this neighborhood will have a safe and secure shelter at Darvaze Ghar to read books in peace.

In addition to reading sessions, the library will implement the Basic Literacy Improvement Program with Creative Learning packages “Learning Sounds”, “Learning Alphabet” and “Learning Math through literature” for pre-school children.
The librarians have been trained in Read with Me workshops held by the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature.
