The seventh “Read with Me” cabin library in earthquake-affected areas
The “Read with Me” program established the seventh cabin library after the Kermanshah earthquake in Salas Babajani.
The library is funded by the financial supports of KCIS (Keep Children in School) and Danayaar Institute and it was opened on 7 July 2018 with the presence of the head of education, mayor, governor, city council, welfare officer, Relief Foundation responsible, an authority from Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, educators, teachers and trainers of the city as well as representatives from the Board of Directors of KCIS, the “Read with Me” libraries’ authority, and the trainers of “Read with Me”.
Before the opening of this library and its official launch, the “Read with Me” team held the “Children’s Literature Recognition and Reading-Aloud Methods” and “Book-related Art” workshops for librarians of this library as well as the volunteers and organizers of the city on 14 and 15 July. Earlier in the winter of 2018, a series of basic literacy workshops were held for more than 20 kindergarten educators of Salas Babajani city.
