In 2013, Read with Me project was implemented for 450 children in 18 kindergartens and preschools in Nehbandan and its surrounding villages. Read with Me project was started in Nehbanadan by sending book packages and holding workshops for teachers on 16-17 August 2013. In the first workshop, Children’s Literature, Reading Aloud and book-related activities were introduced. A second round of book packages were sent in December. Workshops were held on 30-31 January 2014 on the subjects of Living Values, Story Elements, Reading Aloud and Dramatic Arts.

On 22 May 2013 a simple practical librarianship workshop was held in 9 preschools in this region. By sending another book package for all age-groups, these centers turned into small libraries. They can be used by all children in rural areas during the summer. In the academic year 2014/15, 220 children in 9 kindergartens and preschools were covered by this project.

As the Read with Me project continued its second year of implementation in this region, “Learning Math”, “Games” and “Environment” workshops were held for 10 teachers covering 235 children in October 2014.

In March 2016, a series of complementary workshops on the subjects of “Phonological and Phonemic Awareness Skills, “Story Elements” and “Environment” were held for teachers.
