In the middle of April, Read with Me experts traveled to Boshrouyeh to visit the project’s progress in this town and hold complementary workshops for tutors.

Our experts visited five schools and nine classrooms. This year is the first year of RWM implementation in Boshrouyeh and the tutors follow the project enthusiastically leading to great changes in the atmosphere of the classroom.

Based on the reports from RWM experts, tutors have practiced “Learning Sounds” books with children and now the children by singing and playing have joined SiBiLak (the book’s character) and they have completely learned the shape and pronunciation of phonemes.

Teachers and tutors have shown the joy of reading and living values to children by means of reading aloud quality books and book-related activities. A tutor in preschool describes the improvement in children’s friendship after reading the book “Ici, c’est chez moi” and another tutors tells about a children who used to find the masks scary, but after reading the book “Izzy and Skunk”, his fear has disappeared and now he takes part in making masks. “Red Short-legged Hen”, “Kisses for Daddy” and “Where the Wild Things Are” are other books that children adore and take part actively in their follow-up activities.

Some tutors have also used the help of mothers in making puppets and masks.

The children have made amazing progress in fluency as the teachers mention. Some children read the books eagerly and fluently at the presence of RWM experts.

In a school, the students in 4th grade performed the shadow play based on the book “Palm Tree and Goat Legend” for RWM experts with great self-confidence, also the students in 3rd grade performed a play based on “The Tales of Wise Rabbit”. The members of these groups and the school principal remarked the positive influences and children’s interest in the project and asked for the continuation of the project. In other schools despite the lack of facilities, the students performed plays based on the books “The three questions” and “Daft Bat” for the visitors.
