The Society for Protecting Working and Street Children asked to join the Read with Me project since May 2014. The Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature accepted this request and started its activity by holding workshops for teachers and buying books for children with financial support of Fund for Education & Empowerment of Working Children affiliated with our Institute. 135 children aged 6 to 11 participate in Read with Me project’s Book Reading Sessions in this center. Khavaran Center is a branch of Molavi Society for Protecting Working and Street Children which started its activity in August 2002 by official license of the Ministry of Interior. This center provides free training and support services for vulnerable and working children, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, gender, color, race and religion.
Khavaran center started its activity in collaboration with Department of Social and Cultural Affairs of tehran Municipality, District 15 order to support and attract working and vulnerable children in district 15 since October 2009.
