In October 2015 Read with Me started its second year of activity in the district covering 1113 students from first to sixth grade of elementary school. In this second year of activity 1926 books for children and young adults, 42 books for teachers, 1775 activity packages and 133 handbooks were provided. A series of Read with Me workshops were held for teachers and tutors as well.
Read with Me cemented its place among nomadic schools of Lorestan during its third year of activity. At this stage, 430 students in multi-graded classes from 22 schools benefitted from the books provided by the program and the creative education it proposed.
Following the three-year experience of the “Read with Me” program in Lorestan and aiming at providing more titles of high quality books to nomadic schools for holding Reading Aloud sessions, a child-centered library was set up in Khorramabad with the support of Yara Foundation in 2017. The nomadic schools are members of the library. Therefore, teachers borrow book bags from the library to hold Reading Aloud sessions and book-related activities.
