Jutta Bauer, the Hans Christian Andersen winner in 2010, donated the copyright of four titles of her Emma’s Books to Read with Me project. Emma Books have been translated and published into Farsi by IRHCL publishing house to support part of this project in deprived areas in Iran.

“I am glad that Emma is in Iran and makes friend with Iranian children,” Jutta Bauer says.

Marit Törnqvist, Dutch dexterous illustrator and the Hans Christian Andersen nominee

The Astrid Lindgren’s “Red Bird”, illustrated by Marit Törnqvist, Dutch dexterous illustrator, and the Hans Christian Andersen nominee, has been translated and published in 2014 in Farsi language in Iran by IRHCL publishing house and it was entered among the books of Read with Me project. The Lindgren’s family and Marit Törnqvist donated the copyright of the book to the Institute to benefit Read with Me in deprived areas of Iran.
This artist is also the illustrator of “Bigger than a Dream”. The copyright of this book in Iran is donated to Read with Me project by author and illustrator.
In 2016, Marit Törnqvist traveled to Iran to participate in Read with Me conference. By holding lectures and different workshops, she shared her experiences about helping children in crisis through picture books with teachers, reading promoters and other people interested in RWM project in Tehran and Isfahan.

There is no doubt that Astrid Lindgren is the most famous Swedish author and one of the most influential writers in children’s literature and her stories has been always among the favorite stories for children around the world. Lindgren had received numerous international and Nordic Countries awards due to her fantastic imagination. She received Hans Christian Andersen Award for “Pippi Longstocking” in 1958.

The copyright of Astrid Lindgren’s “Red Bird”, illustrated by Marit Törnqvist in Iran has been donated by Lindgren’s family and the illustrator to the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature to benefit Read with Me in deprived areas of Iran.

Jef Aerts is an author of children books, adult novels and poems. His strong style and emotive language has created a kind of literature beyond times.
He published “Bigger than a Dream” in 2014, winning Book Lion (the most important award for children books in Belgium) and Silver Pen (the Dutch National Book Award). This book has been translated into Farsi by Zohreh Ghaeni and published in Iran by IRHCL publishing house.

Peter Sis

Peter Sís

Peter Sís, the proficient illustrator and the Hans Christian Andersen Award winner from the Czech Republic, has also donated the copyright of his book, “The Conference of the Birds”, in Iran to Read with Me project. This book, which has been created based on the story of “The Conference of the Birds” by Attar of Nishapur, will be translated into Persian by Zohreh Ghaeni and will be published by IRHCL publishing house in near future.
